About Us

The Mandel JCC serves as a gathering place for the entire Cleveland community  We provide children’s, adult, and senior services, and sports, leisure and culture all within a vibrant Jewish setting. The tapestry of Jewish life in Cleveland is richer and more exciting by The Mandel JCC’s presence. We are a nonprofit organization that serves and welcomes the entire community. We primarily serve the east side of Cleveland and its suburbs, including: Beachwood; Shaker Heights, Pepper Pike, Cleveland Heights, University Heights, South Euclid, Lyndhurst, Solon, Moreland Hills and Gates Mills.

Our Core Services

• We offer Fitness, Aquatics, Wellness & Recreation Programs for all ages. We offer one of the most comprehensive fitness centers in Cleveland that includes certified personal trainers, group exercise classes, a running track, indoor and outdoor pools racquetball courts, basketball courts, and two fitness centers that feature strength, cardio and free weight equipment. Perhaps, most importantly, our fitness centers have a relaxed, family atmosphere and are welcoming to every age and every fitness level.
• Arts & Culture performances, concerts, theater, and lectures, including our popular Book Festival and Annual FilmFest
• Action-packed Day Camps and Overnight Camps
• Outstanding Preschool/Early Childhood Education programs, including preschool and child care
• After-school enrichment for school-aged children
• Youth sports classes and leagues
• Playmakers Youth Theatre 
• Teen programs and services
• Adult Services, including educational and recreational programming for adults as well as support services including congregate meal programs and transportation services for the frail elderly
• Specials programs for children with disabilities

From our roots in the Council Educational Alliance founded in 1889, through the emergence as a Jewish Community Center in 1948, to the present time, The Mandel JCC has played a vital role in building a strong and cohesive community in Cleveland. An immeasurable number of families and individuals, both young and old, have been enriched and touched by Mandel JCC programs and services.  

Simply put, the goal of The Mandel JCC is to become a central gathering place where affiliated and unaffiliated Jewish families and individuals can gather and connect for socialization, recreation and Jewish learning in a dynamic and welcoming environment; a place that reflects the multiplicity of the Cleveland community and encourages full participation.
