Lev Polyakin & Russian Blue Jazz Trio
Inspired and influenced in his early years by Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Erroll Garner, Stephanie Grappelli and the Beatles, among others, Lev Polyakin sustained an abiding love of jazz throughout all his years of classical training and professional playing. After growing up in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Polyakin completed his studies at the Moscow Conservatory. He emigrated ot the United States in 1980, joined the first violin section of The Cleveland Orchestra in 1982 and is presently assistant concertmaster. In addition, he serves as concertmaster of the American Academy of Conducting Orchestra at Aspen Music Festival.
Polyakin will share his forays into the world of jazz accompanied by bassist Martin Block, guitarist Bob Fraser and drummer Roy King. Polyakin and his ensemble are featured on the jazz CDs Russian Blue, The Other Side of the Road and Christmas Kaleidoscope.

Noah Budin
with David Budin & Edward E. Ridley Jr.
Noah Budin is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, recording artist, actor, storyteller, educator and program director. He has released two CDs of original music (Hallelujah Land: Songs of Faith and Freedom and Metaphor), is a veteran of the Chicago-based a capella music and comedy group, "Four Guys Standing Around Singing," had recurring roles in Cleveland's long-running production of Tony n' Tina's Wedding and was last seen in The Mandel JCC's production of Brooklyn Boy. He will play an eclectic array of music with his brother David Budin who, in a long career as a musician and free-lance journalist, has played with such diverse artists as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, and Buddy Miles and pianist Edward E. Ridley Jr., who has accompanied such artists as Aretha Franklin, Lauryn Hill and Walter Hawkins.

Tikvah Company of Artists and Modern Dance Ensemble
Motivated by themes of intrapersonal and interpersonal significance, Tikvah Artistic Director/Choreographer Linda Kahn intends to provoke thought and enhance hope with the well-crafted SEVEN, conceived from seven verbs common to the human condition. Tikvah Company of Artists, an ensemble of dancers, actors and musicians perform this integrated work of modern dance, narrative and poetic text with eclectic music including Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach's driving Solfegietto. Kahn's striking dance theater piece inspired by stories of renowned Holocaust survivors Gerda Weissman Klein and Renee Firestone are also part of this engaging multi-artistic experience.
