(Israel & Germany, 2007, 90 minutes Hebrew & German with English subtitles Director: Nadav Schirman)
The personal toll of a life of espionage is the fascinating subject of this film – winner of the 2007 Israeli Academy Award for Best Documentary. During the 1960s, legendary Mossad agent Wolfgang Lotz (his covert name) left his wife and son behind to go undercover in Cairo and abotage an Egyptian weapons program. Posing as an ex-Nazi playboy, Lotz increasingly grew consumed with his bogus identity. After 40 years of silence, the son discusses his childhood burden as the son of a real-life James Bond.
Oded Gur-Arie, the son featured in the film, will lead a Q&A after the screening.
